A very sweet tiny portrait miniature, Edwardian or Belle Epoch era painting of a toddler In white gown, shy for the artist's sitting. That painting is only 1 1/8" in diameter, and her face (hair has center part - I think it's a girl) is just 1/2" from chin to hairline. The little locket is complete and undamaged, both convex cover glasses are intact and undamaged. The bale has a gold mark, and it tests 9k, looks higher. It must have been very treasured, as not even a scratch to note on glass nor gold. Would be wonderful on gold chain. I have not opened it, but I rather suspect it once had a baby's lock of hair on view on the back side. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. I find no damage to report on painting nor on the locket and double convex glass. Tiny and sweet! C. 1900, I'd say. Found in France but I'm quite certain it is an English locket. French are more typically 18k and would have eagle's head profile mark.
