I wish I could show this item to its best advantage, it's such a beautiful work of blown Baccarat crystal. Complete and undamaged, it was perhaps never mounted to a newel post but kept as display art. There's a bit of honeycomb to the reflecting surfaces, which I've tried to show by reflecting on a mirror. Appropriately gorgeous in modern decor or antique collections, more than a paperweight - stunning! While there is no signature, as was the case with many early functional Baccarat pieces, I bought this one ages ago in Paris and there identified as Baccarat by a very reputable dealer. Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition. I don't see any flaws to note. There are not even small imperfections to feel with fingertips - no chips nor hairlines, no evidence of surface rubs or abrasions on bottom. Very heavy, and beautifully cut convex faceted pattern. Casts light in an artful display.
