Fabulous antique to vintage French hallmarked sterling silver 12oz creamer or cream jug, pitcher or pot, an Egoist or Aesthetic Movement style with lobed or pumpkin shaped body, interlaced monogram & ornate footed base! Aestheticism was an art movement supporting the emphasis of aesthetic values over socio-political themes and was about sensuality & nature. This piece with a lobed or undulating body, unique footed base and a wonderful interlaced "CM" monogram on each side. The base, lid & finial bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Alphonse Debain, Paris c. 1911-1916. One of several great old French pots that we currently have available so be sure to browse & enjoy while you're with us. Thanks!
Very good condition. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but no larger dents, no damage or repairs. The carved handle is also fully intact and free of any damage. See pictures for weight and measurements.
