Elegant antique French sterling silver egg cup with seashell or shell motif, vermeil or gold lined/plated interior and in wonderful condition! Yes, a single egg cup so we can call it a "solitaire" or "bachelor's" piece but there are so many other things one could use it for. For some reason, making it into a tiny doll sized flower pot or jardiniere with tiny faux flowers keeps popping into my head. It bears the post 1878 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within the mark means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for 'sterling' silver). The silversmith mark appears to be for Joseph Crossard, Paris circa 1900-1920. A lovely piece, spoil yourself!
Very good condition. Some faint surface scuffs and a bit of wear/fading to the inner vermeil but I see no dents, damage or repairs. See images for all measurements.
