Gorgeous antique early 1900s English Coalport 10.25" dinner plate set with ornate cobalt & gold decoration, pale yellow inner borders and all in wonderful condition! The mark: c1881 to 1939, this set most likely dating to around the 1920s. The full set of twelve survives in excellent condition, obviously displayed and seldom (if ever) used. We had them on display in a beautiful carved hutch in our Utah home for years now but we decided to bring them back and offer for sale. A dinner party for 12 of your closest friends is perfect, and this set accommodates that. We've had larger groups and have alternated couples with complimenting era plates, expanding the guest list and the interest of the table. I love layering antique raised gold and cobalt & gold plates, dinnerware. Just beautiful!
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. I find no chips, no hairlines, no cracks, no crazing, and the raised gold enamel and broad border decoration is also without loss. All have the Coalport marks, hand written gold enamel 7/8087 marks and impressed "18F26" marks. Gorgeous cabinet display plates between use.
