Such a pretty little thing. We're showing this hand carved bone fan from all angles, enlarged so you can see that it is not pristine. A little loss to the super-fine perforation lines on one guard, which feels amazing for its age. Sometimes it's difficult to know if it's a 16.5 cm Napoleonic era fan, or a later revival of Empire fashion from the Napoleon III era, 60 years further on. I'll leave it at 19th century, and if you can pin it more closely for me, let me know via email. Not entirely a rule, but normally the later ones are a centimeter longer than this one is. The 16.5 cm more in line with Napoleonic French Empire.
Very good condition for age and type, you can see it has a little loss to the elongated unimaginably thin lines in the carving. It has been in my 'needs restoration' crate for decades, and finally just went out for re-ribboning (silk). Technically, a lovely little fan you could actually use as it's sturdy as you see it. I did not try to lighten the few slightly darker places. Some of the little pleasures of cleaning it and making it your star do belong to the next owner.
