Lovely antique American hallmarked sterling silver 6 5/8” wide bonbon or candies dish with basket type hinged center handle, ornate border pattern and unique Art Deco styling! French and European silver being more our forte, we’ve had this one for likely over 20 years but are going through all of our early inventory to see what’s good and what we just need to clear out. The silversmith mark appears to be for Schmitz, Moore & Co. of Newark, New Jersey c. 1915-1922. This a wonderful piece and Art Deco always has its following. Perfect as a desk top, bedside or even formal dining table serving piece!
Very good to excellent condition. Just recently wheel polished so it has a lustrous glossy shine. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but I see no larger dents, no notable damage and no replairs. See images for weight and measurements.
