Very fine & rare antique French Napoleon I era business banking receipt or money folio in green Epi style leather, a large wallet sized portfolio with baffled expanding interior including labels for each month of the year and in wonderful condition! This piece dates to the Louis XVI to Charles X era, spanning the reigns of Napoleon Bonaparte though you'd never know with its wonderful condition. A deep hunter green colored leather with an Epi style exterior. It opens and expands out via the baffles to have pockets for each month and was surely used to organize receipts of some sort. No markings but French and just as it came to us from France, with a complimenting, though surely not original, green leather wallet or 'papers' insert about the size that would be perfect for a passport today. Great as a desk top decorative accent and perfect for the inkwell & writing accoutrement collectors. Enjoy!
Very good condition for age. There are a few flaws but no damage to the baffles that I can see and no real signs of everyday use. Very surprising that it would survive the 200+ years in this pristine shape. See pictures for all measurements.
