With the beautiful Basilica Saint Anne d'Auray as subject, you'll have to travel a little to 9 Rue de Vannes, 56400 Sainte-Anne-d'Auray, France, to see her now. Seems like a fun quest, particularly as we can't travel just now. A back-painted gravure (print image originally from a photo gravure engraved plate) and backed by mother of pearl to light and give shimmer and color to he windows and architectural accents. A wonderful view, dating c. 1900, give or take a few years, it's worked into a lovely holy font with mother of pearl font/basin, pressed brass frame that is 6.5" in height. A wonderful Grand Tour souvenir that remains a stunning reminder of this great view. If you've been to this basilica, perhaps you'll love this as your own Grand Tour souvenir.
Very good to excellent, two tiny spots of missing paint on the backside of that convex glass the brass frame holds. The mother of pearl accents shimmer in light and make it seem lighted. No breaks, no cracks nor chips. The mother of pearl font is also in fine form, as you can see. The overall measurements are 6.5" in height, 4" widest and 1.75" in depth at the font. The oval eglomise is convex glass 3" x 2.25" in size. A crucifix tops it and forms the hanging mount.
