Monogram "A L" on box and in sterling silver on both of the pristine leather items inside (a note pad or aide d'memoire and a sectioned coin purse - neither of which have ever been put to use and remain in new condition. This set is French, dates c.1880-1910 and while the presentation box shows its age a bit more, it is a superb gift set, well treasured through over a century. The leather is so elegant, supple. The purse set includes a coin and money purse, accordion-pleated sections to include a coin purse with brass closure. The larger of the 2 pieces in set is a card case and notepad holder which still has its original writing stylus inside. Never used. Found in France. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, quite remarkably so! As noted, presentation box shows some age around perimeter of lid, yet the 2 purse accessories inside are pristine and never used. Rare to find luxury items without evidence of having been used. These are gorgeous, high quality and brand new - yet are a c.1880-1910 gift set. The monogram on all 3 pieces is A L.
