Painting is signed by artist, "A. Moreau". Such a beautiful table snuff box, large at 4" in diameter and with a magnificent miniature painting of hunters on horses and hunting dogs against an autumn landscape. Perfectly preserved atop a pristine satiny lathe-turned burl box, both painting and slightly convex cover glass are also pristine.  I have not taken it apart, but it looks to me like a watercolor on vellum or early paper. From fashion and the box, I would date it later 1800s to perhaps c.1900. A table snuff - magnificent little landscape! Full measurements noted on photos.

Excellent condition for age and type. I really see no flaws to point out. The mount is brass, perhaps a silvered layer. No chips nor age or shrinkage flaws to the old burl wood, which is gorgeous! Appears to be a thin panel of it inside lid (see images).
