While they have what looks much like a Sevres mark, I am unsure of it so we'll just call these "Old Paris" cabinet plates. You can evaluate the marks and decide for yourself. Sampson also did highly competent mimics of the old work, and this might well be by that company. Still, antique and of superb quality and value. The pair go together in our offering, a fine set of large cabinet plates for display. Hand painted, they also are slightly molded in such a way that the raised gold is applied on slightly raised porcelain, enhancing the decorative outer rim. Added joy in that inner garland encirclement of florals around the Romantic scenes that center each one.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. I find no chips, no hairlines nor cracks to report. Very very slight rub here or there on the raised gold application, entirely done by hand, too. The plates are heavy, about 1" in depth/rise, and are 9.75" in diameter. Display beautifully!
