From my own collection, a Georgian era portrait miniature, a pretty and young blue-eyed blond. Low Georgian bodice, typical era hairstyle. The pendant mount is 1 5/8" x 1 3/8" oval plus a large bale up top. Backing is the same 12k gold (acid tested). No signature.
Very good to excellent for age and type. No warp, chips, cracks or inner dust. The convex glass has protected her these 250 years, plus or minus a decade. The old gold has typical rub of time. We have not polished, but it seems to me nothing that wouldn't polish, no deep scrapes and no dents. Slightly oyster in form, as you can see. Isn't she wonderful!
