Presenting these 100 or so years later, this superb Swiss Black Forest jewelry chest is particularly beautiful and unscathed by time. The Animalier era carved pair of game birds up top with their nest have no damage whatsoever, and only rarely do we find an interior this nicely preserved. Ready for use or display. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. It's quite amazing, really, to find these items without loss or damage. If only we had the working key, it would just be a magnificent casket. We will check our key stashes to see if one might by chance fit, but our listing and price considers there is not a key. Interior is silk, and an interesting tuck-worked panel inside lid echos that of the bottom lining. No real deterioration of age, and no stains or odors. No losses - a tiny not to a push to underside of a corner of lid, really not visible without turning the casket over. A superb box!
