This palette is just gorgeous, opulent feel of autumn against a deep brown-black background, in needlepoint stitches which remain excellent, and all that heavy glass beading in white, shades of gray to black. The surface is so rich! Turning it over, you can see there hasn't been much fading of the old wool and silk yarns, and there are no flaws to report. Whether you decide to make it up as a luxurious down-filled decorator pillow, or frame it for your wall, or perhaps use it to upholster a foot stool, it'll thrill the eye every time you see it In your own home. Very good to excellent, a strong canvas without any damage or splits, no moth damage to wool and silk yarns, and all that beadwork is also complete. I think it might have been a shield-shaped fire screen at one point, and someone has (sadly) lobbed off the lower V. Strong enough to make up as a pillow. Expand the size with a 4-6" border of deep brown velvet, fringe it in complimenting passementerie - fabulous! No splits, no odor, clean and ready.n
