Rare Prussia Austria portrait miniature of superb quality, 18th century c.1750-70s, the side curls and long ponytail down his back, tied in a black silk bow helps to place him in time. A name is on the back, though I do not know if that's the gentleman or notation of the artist. Since I can't find any reference as artist, I assume the gentleman's name is Adam Zeller Grofsvaler. A research project for those who love history. I'm leaving it to you. Full measurements are on the photos, and his face is just 3/4" chin to hairline.
Very good to excellent, the painting is more than 250 years old and is just perfect. The original painting, the original cover glass (slightly convex) and the wood frame are all in fine condition without losses. Backed with a wood oval backing held in with small nails, and a hanging hardware make it ready to hang and enjoy. Great color!
