We don't typically deal in paintings of a more 'modern' type like this one done in 1965, signed by the artist), but this one is particularly appealing and brilliant, from composition and placement of the figure within frame, to the stunning use of color/palette. Very much to the Fauve or Fauvist aesthetic, this artist's confident use of color, brushstroke makes it a work certainly is that of a master. That said, a cursory search for the artist, "J. Gonnet", did not turn up reference for us. Full measurements noted on the photos, a frame of 26 1/8" x 18 1/8" which is 1 1/2" in depth, a gold filet accenting the painting, itself. Found in France.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. No damage to the painting and no loss of paint. Vintage frames has also survived well. It had no hanging wire when it arrived from Paris, so we have added that. Ready to hang.
