Fabulous vintage Tiffany & Co. sterling silver cased compass, near pristine with "PSW" monogrammed lid, markings around the sides, hallmarks on the base and in original felt pouch! The top with a scrolling "P.S.W." monogram and around the sides of the case are the .925 (sterling) hallmark, "T & CO" and then "1837" (the year Tiffany was founded). It also designates this as being in their "Tiffany 1837 Makers" collection, a specific line from Tiffany & Co. that focuses on craftsmanship, heritage, and a slightly more masculine, industrial aesthetic compared to their classic jewelry. What an elegant form and maker for such a utilitarian use, perhaps this will appeal to the "Glamping" campers or it would make a great graduation "off to college" gift with a note saying "So you can always find your way back home". The newer version of this one can be found on the Tiffany & Company website at this moment for $1100, the inscriptions and hallmarks appear to be the same though the shape has changed somewhat. We're also adding an exceptionally RARE Tiffany & Co. sterling silver "SwissChamp" or "Champion" class Swiss Army knife this week so wound't they just make the PERFECT pair!
Very good to excellent condition. I see no dents or damage to the sterling silver casing, the TIffany flannel pouch is intact and also pristine. See pictures for all measurements.
