Fabulous old Baccarat dressing table items, in white opaline glass with heavy solid dore bronze fittings, caps, etc.. We have had matching vanity pieces, all dating late 1800s to early 1900s, and often still with the Baccarat stickers on them. The thick opaline glass body of the jar is pristine, and tops of these items or stoppers for the bottles are always in this very heavy thick solid cast dore bronze as you see here. We'll be listing some matching dressing table bottles, too, which will be sold separately. This offering is for the powder jar with hand painted miniature work of art - a Romantic genre scene reminiscent of that style in favor during the 1700s and represented primarily in the works of Boucher, Fragonard, others who are now on display in Louvre and other museums and noted as "Romanticism" movement. Interestingly, I had not seen one of these powder jars before now. Isn't it fabulous! While it no longer has the marketing sticker that identifies it as 'Baccarat, we know that it is, and it matches other pieces that do. Buy several for your own dressing table.
Very good to excellent condition, very heavy solid dore bronze, similar to those elegant 19th century Empire pieces made by Baccarat, another lauded glass & crystal manufacturer, the base of the jar is thick opaline glass, white in color. Jar or powder is 3.5" in diameter, and presents in fine form.
