From my private collection comes a few fine Belle Epoch raised gold enamel porcelains. This one is a squat vase with lid, a potpourri. A work of art by M. Redon, a Limoges, France porcelain decorator. Opulent raised gold porcelains like this one date mostly during the turn of the 20th century, c.1890-1910, "Belle Epoch". Amply signed on bottom, we see the underglaze title of "Boudha II", as well. And it definitely has a Chinoise feel to the form. Entirely hand decorated, thick impasto gold enamel rising in bas relief from the shiny cobalt surface - my favorite decorative style on porcelain. Overall, with lid in place, it is not quite 7" tall, and at widest point it is 4" in diameter.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, hardly even a rub to all that thick gold. Shown from all sides, the cobalt blue glaze is super-shiny, you can see our photography lights glaring on it. Fabulous thick gold enamels pretty much entirely intact. Look also for the other raised gold enamel porcelain pieces in our final photos, sold separately.
