Fabulous antique Victorian to Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved 10" tall pocket watch display stand, a hunt or pastoral theme with slain lamb figure, antler accented watch display and two marvelously carved gents! Quite unique, we've had this type of Black Forest sculptural renditions of Brittany style figures in the past but normally confined to smaller sewing spools and one or two thermometer stands. This one with the sole purpose of displaying a rather dainty pocket watch (the one shown in the images is just for display though and not included). The detail to the two gentlemen is fabulous, one seated as if agonizing the loss of the lamb and the other with right leg up on a rock providing solace perhaps. The detail to their faces and clothing is simply wonderful though! A great piece for either the Black Forest or pocket watch enthusiasts.
Very good to excellent condition. It appears that there is some chipping or loss to the accenting around the pocket watch view/opening. The top may have had two crossed rifles behind that satchel shape though I can't be certain. A few small chips possible but no larger damage to note. There are visible old worm/bug holes in the back mostly but nothing active. See pictures for measurements.
