Fabulous antique Victorian era Black Forest hand carved cigar presenter box, casket in the form of a thatch roof cabin, house or out building complete with silvered bronze resting deer or stag figure, original fitted interior and hidden mechanical lid release!  We've really had the good fortune to find a few truly unique and fabulous old cigar presenter boxes lately, still have a few available though they do seem to sell quickly.  This one in the Black Forest style, entirely hand carved and in the shape of a small cabin or building, rough lumber framework over the carved 'brick' sides.  The flared bottom boasting a bronze deer figure resting in the grass and, as you can see, overall wonderful visual & decorative appeal!  The lid is released mechanically via a hidden carved portion just to the right of the arched doorway.  Once opened, it exposes the interior fitting that holds up to twenty-eight cigars or cheroots with up to a 5/8" diameter and up to 5.5" in length.  Thick, solid old hardwood construction, it appears to be either walnut or oak (not the normal linden wood that you see in the majority of Black Forest pieces).

Very good to excellent condition.  Possibly a few small nips or chips but, as you can see, there's really not any damage or flaws worth mentioning.  The clasp works great, the lid springs up just a bit when released and the inner fitting is fully intact.  As you can see, there is some loss or wear to the silvering or nickel plated finish on the bronze stag figure.  See pictures for all measurements.
