Lovely antique Victorian era Black Forest hand carved candlestick or epergne stand pair with European deer or stag figures, tree trunks and overhanging branches with foliage! A delightful pair of all original hand carved epergne stands, Swiss Black Forest works of art from the mid-late 1800s, Animalier period. The anatomical depiction on these is wonderful. Very easily converted into a pair of small boudoir or accent lamps. So simple to do, we've done it numerous times with paris like these and just love the look and ambiance in Country French, English Manor, cabin or lodge decor. These would be perfect for that or leave as they are, add glass bobeche as candle holders on the fireplace mantel. This set one of five similarly sized pairs that we’ve added recently, this week another pair in a darker wood finish with game bird figures. Browse some while you're with us, we have a large collection of fabulous antique Black Forest treasures, sure to tempt. Thanks!

Very good for age and type. There are a few chips to the overhanging branches, the left horn and both ears on one deer are missing or chipped, as are the horn tips on the other deer. One stand has an old split area visible in the front of the base and slightly on the rear with either carved wood or fill restoration there. See images for measurements.
