Fabulous antique Victorian to early Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved desk or writing table top telescoping book rack with pierced or reticulated branches & foliage surrounding an ibex or mountain goat on one side, chamois figure at the other and all in wonderful condition! These meant to hold a small set of texts or volumes on the desk top, each of the sides is hinged and collapses flat, folds up to hold several volumes and they even slide out to 19.5" wide to accommodate more. Very Black Forest and wonderful decorative accents!
Very good condition. Chips to the outer horn on each animal but no other damage (all thin legs intact). Possibly a tiny chip or two elsewhere but no real damage to note. See pictures for all measurements.
