Offering a charming an excellently preserved mid-1800s French cold paste porcelain pair of candelabrum, candle holders. They're each set with a child's figure and each child has a bin in front. Matches, I'm thinking, both ready and spent. They're each hand painted, darling faces and a nice flow blue and painted blue in cobalt against the white. Shocking, really, to find an original pair and with no breaks or chips, cracks to ruin them. Measurements are noted on the photos but they are each approximately 10.5" tall. Hold regular tapers. Stable and solid and heavy. You'll love them. Flow blue, French blue and white? They'll work perfectly with this pair.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. They are cast in 2 pieces, each, and you can see where they are permanently jointed, about at the neck of the children. That isn't a flaw, it's the way they're made originally. Lovely old things, and you're buying the pair. Mantel or table, they're perfect. Each holds a basket: one for matches and one for spent matches, so likely were a mantel decoration originally.
