Antique Edwardian 22.25" long jet bead braided necklace, c.1890-1920. Possibly mourning jewelry. Round worked braid is 5/16" thick, perfect. Ring clasp is brass, not gold Very good to excellent for age and type. Flapper? Mourning? Not sure on this one, but it's fabulous and the more so with a pendant or enhancer attached. Look through my vintage jewelry to find your favorites from our group photo. Looks fabulous also with a black enameled hair art brooch clasped over it as an enhancer.
Very good to excellent condition, all the beads in place exactly as when made. Clasp and stringing sturdy. This one is to wear! p.s., I have wound it double for a couple photos, but unless you have a very small neck, it can't be worn as a double-strand choker.
