Fine antique French .800 (nearly sterling) silver 2" napkin ring, 95% pure silver with elegant laurel Empire or Classical styling including laurel sprigs or branches and scrolled medallion sans monogram! Stamped with the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the outer shape and tiny number "2" within means it's .800 silver content (at least 80% pure and just under the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith mark is most likely for Emile Leclerc, Paris c. 1888-1898.
Yes, a single here and one of several superb antique and vintage sterling silver napkin rings that we're adding today (and in the weeks ahead) so be sure to browse our current offerings to build a collection fit for royalty :). These are great mixed & matched around your table, wonderful to find a set of twelve or more matching pieces but who could be so lucky. And, isn't it much neater if all are unique, each with a history...a story of its own!
Very good condition. Weighs 23 grams, relatively light but the 'folded' edges serve to reinforce it, giving it added strength. Light surface scuffing, a bit of visible tarnish, but it's in wonderful shape. See pictures for measurements.
