A superb old 2nd Empire frame in dore bronze, wreath top! The old original moire silk mat and appliques offer 2" apertures for your twins (or ours) or your his and hers wedding photos - whatever. This frame is mid 1800s, Napoleon III's Empire Revival period, and is as brilliantly gold as in its origin, which is the mark of dore bronze castings. Easel stand and the old original backing remain, beautifully preserved, as does the beautiful pale green moire silk mat. The apertures are each 2" round, as noted, and await your favorite photos.
Very good to excellent, without any flaws to note. Of course, the more original an antique frame remains, the more of its value it keeps, too. This frame would have held a pair of portrait miniatures at one time, certainly, but the paintings are no longer within. A beauty, isn't it. Watch for a near-match single aperture French frame we'll be listing which will look fabulous along with this one (sold separately).
