A beautifully hand carved frame on this 19th century easel-backed and gilded vanity mirror or standing mirror. Will compliment any decor, dressing room or can be hung on wall if you prefer. The old hinged easel stand back remains intact, as you can see. I rather suspect the mirror is a newer replacement since the very old ones were most often thick and beveled around the shaped edging. Perfect silvering. No chips nor cracks. Our photographer blurred a bit of mirror to remove his reflection, but it's very clean and clear. Easel stand and backing are both wood. We'd date this one c.1880-1900.
Very good to excellent condition and just in from Paris. Lovely as it is, no chips, no cracks to the old carved wood. The gilded finish is bright and fine. The easel-back is original, hinged to the wood backing as you can see. It could be removed or a hanging loop applied so you can hang it on a wall, and likewise, without the easel back stand, it's a fabulous countertop mirror for your perfumes or any collection of vanity jars, etc., - even for a liqueur service set of glassware or a small collection of opaline eggs. Anything you want to draw attention to - this one will frame it in beautifully.
