A fabulous late 1800s to earliest 1900 jewelry box that doubles duty as a manicure vanity and sewing box. Leather outer covering on a serpentine box with decidedly French Empire feel to the shape and gold embossed decoration. Very fine condition, and almost all of the old original tools remain in that silk-velvet covered lift-out tray. Beneath? A space for jewelry, sewing items or love letters. The interior lid has the old original mirror, typical of the old sewing boxes, and we're very pleased to note that this one even still retains the old working key in its lock.
Very good to excellent condition, has the look of having never been used. Even those sharp corners suffer very little push or wear on this fine old sewing chest. Leather exterior over wood body, lined in blue silk velvet and satin. Remarkably still holds all or nearly all of the old original implements, tools, inside. As you see it.
