This one is a bit unusual for most of the old portrait miniatures in that it is a drawing that has been painted into with grisaille washes of gouache, worked on card. A less costly miniature in its time, perhaps, and with all the charm of the early 1800s when it was worked by an artist who did not sign the work. Framed in the typical wood frame with brass aperture mat, it is very well preserved as you can see.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. A pencil, pen and gouache drawing/painting on heavy card. Measurements noted on photos.
