Fabulous & HEAVY antique French sterling silver 2â napkin ring with ornate Louis XV or rococo style including floral & foliate accents and rocaille framed medallion sans inscription or dedication and wonderful condition! The French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within that mark means it's 1st quality for .950 silver content (at least 95% pure silver and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark on this one is basically illegible, even under high magnification, but may be for Orfevre Saglier, Paris circa 1890s.
Yes, a single here but we've amassed well over 100 great old mostly French sterling napkin rings over the years and I'm working on them now. They're great mixed & matched around your table, wonderful to find a set of twelve or more matching pieces but who could be so lucky. And, isn't it much neater if all are unique, each with a history...a story of its own! We have rococo style napkin rings, guilloche style machined or engraved napkin rings, French Empire style napkin rings, personalized napkin rings with the original owners' names on them. Just a massive array of styles and aesthetically unbeatable! Browse and enjoy, theyâre all so lovely and sure to add to your fine dining experience (and that of your guests, too)!
Very good condition. This one weighs a heavy 414 grams, built to last, great condition as you can see from the images. Some light surface scuffing and a bit of tarnish and/or darkening in areas. See pictures for measurements.
