Fabulous antique French sterling silver 4pc hors d'oeuvre or condiment serving implement set with acanthus accented guilloche style engraved pattern, hallmarked sterling silver blades, tines & bowls and ornate reticulated accenting, interlaced "SD" monograms and original fitted storage and/or presentation box! The handles and blade, bowls & tines, etc. bear the post-1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks, the tiny number "1" marking within designates them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are most likely for Andre Lecugy, Paris circa 1879-1880. A gorgeous set, great additions to your existing fine sterling silver table service!
Very good condition. There is some faint scuffs and tiny dimpling to the handles but no notable damage or repairs. The black leatherette box is in great shape. The gold embossed label inside the blue silk or satin lined lid reads "J. Jeannin, Bijoutier, Bar Le Duc". See pictures for weights and measurements.
