Elegant antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era sterling silver 6" sugar tongs with a nearly Art Nouveau style pattern including foliage & cattails and lovely, large lion's paws! Something that doesn't immediately come to mind when thinking of a fine antique sterling silver tea & coffee set but, as you can imagine, these are pretty much a must have if you're using cubes in your sugar caddy. Nothing quite so elegant as the details, right? This one bears the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within the mark means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark is for Henri Gabert, Paris circa 1882-1901. One of just a few that we currently have available so, if this one isn't quite a match for your existing service, be sure to browse some while you're with us. Thanks!
Very good condition. Very light tarnish visible in the recessed areas but I see no dents, damage or repairs to note. See pictures for weight and measurements.
