Beautiful old thing, this. A 2 3/4" long etui or container to hold sealing wax within, and the one end is a seal bearing image of a horse soldier with rifle raised. The mark on the silver is an early one, late 1700s to earliest 1800s. Beautifully crafted, engraved panels of mother of pearl encircle the wooden case, and the one end is also mother of pearl, ornately carved.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. No losses, elegantly crafted in all ways. The matrix is 7/8" in diameter. A wonderful collector's piece, or put it to use yourself. Photos show all.
