Fabulous antique French sterling silver & cobalt glass master open salt, an elegant single piece with delightful winged angel, cherub or putti figures and in wonderful condition! A single yes but larger than the average open salt and as gorgeous as can be. This type, with the thick cobalt glass inner liner are always popular. Pierced or reticulated sides with floral accents and don't you just love those little winged figures! It bears the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within that mark means it's in .950 silver (95% pure so higher than the .925 standard for sterling silver). The silversmith mark is for Leon Lapar, Paris circa 1878-1897. Fabulous, don't miss it!
Very good to excellent condition. I see no damage to the reticulated sterling framework an no chips or cracks to the glass liner. See pictures for measurements.
