Lovely antique French Napoleon III era sterling silver solitaire, bachelor's coffee or tea pot, perhaps milk pot or creamer with ribbed aesthetic styling and 1849-1861 Martial Fray silversmith mark! Aesthetic, nearly Art Nouveau, style to that charming little spout and legs, topped off with a foliate finial and with the original serpentine carved ebony or ebonized handle. The lid and base are marked with the French Minerve or Minerva, the tiny number "1" within those marks means itâs in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark is for Martial Fray, Paris circa 1849-1861. A lovely little, perfectly usable pot. Spoil yourself every morning.
Good to very good condition. There is a bit of bending to the leg portions and a few small dimples but no larger dents, damage or repairs. See pictures for measurements.
