Elegant antique to vintage French sterling silver & cut crystal or glass 6pc vanity jar, perfume & cologne bottle set including atomizer, all with ornate reticulated silver accented lids, "SP" interlaced monograms and wonderful condition! One of a few sets of matching antique to vintage French sterling topped vanity sets that Iâve recently been working on, getting ready for listing so, if youâre looking for a few pieces to display in a guest or master bath, be sure to browse a little while youâre with us. They really do add a touch of elegance, displayed on an old silver tray or even just by themselves, grouped near the sink perhaps. This set consisting of three covered jars, two perfume or cologne bottles and the unique addition of an old mechanical/pump atomizer piece. All lids (and silver collars if any) bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means theyâre all in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The only exception to that is the collar and inner pump mechanism on the atomizer, the collar being in at least .800 silver and the pump vermeil plated metal. There are silversmith marks of "MR" for Maria Remy, Paris circa 1894-1924. A lovely set, don't miss it!
Very good condition. Slight surface scuffing to the silver and a very faint dimple or two. Possibly a tiny nip or two to the base edges or perhaps the rims of the jars without silver collars but no larger chips, cracks or damage. Unfortunately, the atomizer is not working. The center of the lid is actually a pump that is supposed to pop up when turned slightly counter clockwise but I can't get it to turn so itâs likely in need of oiling or something with the inner threads locked up. Stoppers intact in the two perfume bottles with just a few small chips to the inner tips. See pictures for all measurements.
