The Mercure or Mercury hallmark means they were made for export, all in .950 or 95% pure silver with a likely 18k gold finish. Rather simple but elegant, the handles have a guilloche style machined pattern and large raised medallions with interlaced "NM" or "MN" monograms. Foliate accents on the bottom of the bowls, the textured or guilloche style pattern on both front and back. All pieces in great shape with just minor wear or fading to the vermeil finish. The rosewood box, also a treasure, has brass inlay on the lid including a cartouche with no monogram. Meant to be a teaspoon service, we've had several tea sets in the past and this ranks right up there with the best where visual attractiveness is concerned. Great along with your existing fine sterling silver tea or even dessert service!
Very good condition. As noted above, there is some wear or fading to the vermeil finish, mostly visible on the under side of the spoon bowls. No bends, dents, damage or repairs though. The rosewood box is in great shape with only some minor surface/veneer marks (no losses) and all of the brass inlay is intact. All original hardware but missing the key. See pictures for measurements and weights.
