Very antique French Victorian or Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era smoker's chest, a unique roll-front cigar presenter box with three cigar drawers, accoutrement drawer, retailer's or maker's label and silver monogram! I'd say it sort of has a Gothic feel to it, with the shaped upper portion of the box but the roll-front is something we don't see that often where these smoker's chests or cabinets are concerned. The front rolls up into the top and back of the box revealing the three remaining cigar trays (there are seven slots for actually so a few missing) and a small drawer in the top. If you pull the drawer all the way out, there's a silver or silver plated label in the back that reads "Leruth Ft, 32 Rue De Bondy, Paris". Some flaws but what a fabulous, unique old piece!
If you look closely at the pictures you'll see some missing wood accents, most notable are the portions of the moulding along the upper portion of the facade. Also a piece of wood mission from the upper and lower right side of the front. Some age splits or cracks in places. There is a glue repaired split in the bottom segment of the rolling door, where the knob is. Original lock & hardware but missing the key. See picture for all measurements.
