We've just bought the collection of a longtime good customer, and will have 31 pieces in all listing soon. Each sold separately. The term, "eglomise" refers to a decorative technique of painting on the backside of glass. These are each little works of art. The collection varies from c.1830-1890. Will describe each as listed:
Large French opaline glass scent bottle with stopper, 4.75" tall and 2.75" diameter, this one has no chips breaks but a tiny flash nip to the bottom of stopper, which I've tried hard to show. It's more to be felt than seen, really, and it has no other flaws to note, other than a little dinge to the inside of the Grand Tour architectural view of Notre Dame Cathedral. Not simple to remove it to clean inside, and we've left that decision to its next owner. Still a lovely old thing, and beautiful in collection display.
