Another of my own stash of fabulous antique tapestry fragments, purchased over the decades with full intention of making up into a lush down-filled and opulently fringed trow pillow. This one has been a table runner, has a wide trim band of antique metallic thread trim and ancient silk passementerie fringe. Will be so simple to make up into a pillow. Someone has already done any necessary small restorations these normally need, and has done a reinforcement panel behind to prep it for the project of a pillow top. Keep the fringe or not, though it also is valuable. The metallic border trim runs $80 a yard, and you've got it free here.
Very good to excellent for age and type, it dates back to c.1600-1700, perhaps even earlier. Beautiful palette of colors, still a thrill to find these. I'm just too old and too busy (for an old woman) to really believe I'm going to make all of these up into pillows for you. It's a simple project, however, and instantly increases value in the panel 300%, finished. Designers, dealers, you know the look. Measurements are noted on the photos. Measurements noted on photos.
