Antique Victorian era mourning jewelry, a double locket, c.1860-80 14k gold, 1.5 mm seed pearls set as a cross. Hinged, double-sided. The old paper lining, without glass Measurements: 1.25" x 1" oval, 3/8" thick when closed. Add .25" for ring bale up top.
Condition: No bends, no breaks. Hinge working perfectly, as is the clasp. There are a few nicks in the c.1860 enamel, which is kiln-fired and glass-like, not merely painted on. Seed pearls are all original and in place. There is a rough spot on backside at hinge, also on bottom edge, visible in our photos. The locket does not have glass inside. One can use a fine clear plastic to cover photos set inside. I'll be taking on the huge task of listing hundreds of antique fine jewelry items these next weeks.
