Absolutely gorgeous antique Victorian era 13 1/4" triple tea caddy in striking coromandel veneers with mother of pearl edging, wonderful hexagonal or pagoda shaping and the interior has been relined in moire silk for a divine dresser top jewelry chest or desk top documents casket! The inner lock has the "VR" mark for "Victoria Regina" and dates it to the Victorian era. Originally one of those three well tea caddies, or rather double tea caddy with a center mixing bowl. Now it has been relined with a cream colored moire silk and would make a fabulous jewelry and/or keepsakes chest! Superbly figured coromandel veneers on all sides, framed in solid carved mother of pearl edgings and escutcheon. Beautiful!

Very good condition. The most notable flaw is that there is a missing strip of the pearl edging on the rear bottom. There is also a quite tight hairline across much of that top veneer panel. An old age/drying natural event we sometimes see in the old woods.  Normally these are double the price we've set. I'm certain a good woodworking shop or even Lowe's has a veneer crayon in matching color that will fill it in cosmetically to a fine result, but we always show the piece as it is without restoration done. It's important to know what imperfections one will need to address. As noted, the interior has been refitted as a jewelry casket and does not have the original tea wells or fittings. There is a key with it but I can't get it to turn the lock, I'll check to see if any of our spares will work. See pictures for measurements.
