One of my favorite seed pearl necklaces in my collection, partly because it's multicolor and shades to a silvery beige - absolutely goes with everything I wear! The 1.5-2mm pearls are beautifully matched in cream to that more interesting color and it really is divine. My go-to set. Twisted into torsade, it is 15" long, and laid flat the 5 strands are 16" long. A 14k gold barrel clasp is working perfectly, strong grasp for safe wearing. No loss, stringing is also tight. A re-strung set for sure, serviceable in wear and not just a fragile old treasure. High pearlescent shimmer to the pearls, too. I love this one with an old mourning brooch pinned across it as a pendant (see images for sample) and the versatility is superb. I know it'll be your favorite, too. You remember, seed pearls are mourning jewelry in their era. Each tiny pearl representing the tear of the mourner who wears them.
Very good to excellent condition, c.1860-1910 seed pearls, I'd guesstimate, antique 14k barrel clasp, and very strong for wear, having been restrung at some point in time (see beautifully accomplished joint at the clasp). No losses, no loose stringing. Beautiful pearlescent shimmer.
