Delightful antique Victorian to Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved 6" long bear figure, an open salt, inkwell stand or trinket dish with brass bowl insert, painted accents and black glass or metal bead eyes! Isn't this one just darling! Carved as if lumbering through the forest, the brass salt dish set into the top of his back. Wonderful detail & realism to the carving, a nicely sized and beautifully preserved old Swiss Black Forest Brienz style bear!
Very good condition. Possibly a tiny nip or two but, as you can see, no losses to his ears or chips to his nose. The front portions of three paws appear to have been split or broken and re-glued with a bit of wood fill on two though you really can't tell except from the bottoms. See pictures for all measurements.
