Elegant antique French sterling silver 61pc dinner sized flatware set with additional sifter serving utensil, all with armorial or familial heraldry crests and royal crowns! A 5pc place setting for twelve here, including the knives which aren't original to the set but are in a period style and work wonderfully with them. All pieces but the knives in thick, heavy old French sterling silver and marked with the post-1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark. The tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Likely a wedding gift, the crests appear to be those of the two families being wedded and the crown is either that of a marquis or duke, I believe. A lovely set, don't miss them!
Very good to excellent condition. No damage or repairs to note though there may be a few faint knife marks on the fork tines and some light surface scuffs from age and light use. See pictures for individual weights and measurements.
