Absolutely fabulous & rare antique Victorian to early Edwardian era Continental .800 hallmarked (nearly sterling) silver 3pc open or master salt set, ornate Louis XV or Classical style with cobalt glass inserts, garland & lionâs paw feet! Just in from France, this is one of three glorious old European or French sterling silver salt sets that weâre adding this week. This set in a distinct French style with faux Louis XV 1700s French hallmarks that date it to the late 1800s of German or Continental origins. A beautiful set, thick and heavy solid silver, all bear late 1800s hallmarks for B. Neresheimer & Sohne, circa 1903. They exhibited in the 1893 Chicago World's Colombian Exposition and the 1904 St. Louis International Expo. The marks are old and copied from early to mid 1700s French hallmarks but for the above silversmith. A gorgeous set and, there are actually four of the silver bases, one didn't have the cobalt glass insert when we got it in from France so we're offering as a set of three. Replace the glass insert and you have a 4pc set!
Very good to excellent condition. There are a few small chips/nips to the rims of the cobalt glass inserts but no larger chips or cracks to note. No damage or repairs to the silver settings. See pictures for measurements.
