Gorgeous & rare antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era sterling silver & cobalt glass double open salt caddy, ornate pierced or reticulated styling with foliate decoration, Louis XV or Rococo decoration with bird figures! A truly elegant piece, these are great in the formal dining ensemble and meant for salt or sweet meats but you can pretty much use your imagination. It bears the tiny French boarâs head hallmark, meaning itâs in at least .800 or 80% pure silver. The silversmith marks are for Victor Boivin, a prominent Parisian silversmith and circa 1897. A stunning piece, donât miss it!
Very good to excellent condition! A tiny nip or two to the rims of the cobalt glass inserts possible but no larger chips, cracks or damage. No breaks or repairs to the silver framework. See pictures for all measurements.
