Delightful antique Victorian to Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved wall hanging 7" match or toothpick holders, lovely little pieces with that ever popular "Fruits of the Hunt" motif including game birds and rifles with the large hunter's satchel as the holder! In the style of the larger wall hanging 'Fruits of the Hunt' plaques, this pair measuring roughly 7" in height each and meant to hold either matches or toothpicks surely. Sometimes you see a striker which would mean matches and that may be what the small oval shaped carving toward the bottom of the satchels is/was but up to you. Detailed figures and rare to find a matching pair, each nearly a mirror image of the other. One of two fine antique Black forest match or toothpick holders that we're adding today so be sure to browse some while you're with us. Thanks!
Very good condition. Each has small chips to feather or wing tips, also a few along the tips of the satchel tassels. The most notable loss is the stock portion of one rifle near the top. See pictures for all measurements.
